HOCKEY

 

 

CLASSES BEGIN Saturday, September 8th and Monday, September 10th.

Mighty Mites   Ages 4 to 8 Years. The young player will learn to feel comfortable skating  on his or her own for the first time. Formal instruction in a fun environment. Skating and hockey skills will both be addressed. (ALL PLAYERS must use Helmet with face cage, hockey gloves, hockey stick, elbow pads, shin pads, and hockey socks and pants [or long pants covering the full leg]).  Prerequisite:  Tots or Beginning Skating 1 from our Learn to Skate program.

Youth Basic Hockey  Ages 9 to 14 Years. For the child who has rudimentary skating skills and would like to try ice hockey. Basic Hockey is a safe, positive first exposure to the sport. As in all of our hockey classes, skating and hockey skills are developed. A must for all of the hockey programs at the Ice Park. (ALL PLAYERS must use Helmet with face cage, hockey gloves, hockey stick, elbow pads, shin pads, and hockey socks and pants [or long pants covering the full leg]).  Prerequisite:  Beginning Skating 1 from our Learn to Skate program.

Adult Basic Hockey Ages 15 and older. It's never too late to learn to play the BEST GAME!  Skating and skill development have the specific goal of imparting the basic skills required to play the game. Hockey skating technique, passing, shooting, positioning and team skills are covered.  Prerequisite:  Beginning and Intermediate Adult skating class from our Learn to Skate program.

All players will need to wear pants to class, along with a long sleeved shirt.  All hockey classes will require all players to wear ice hockey specific equipment.  This will include a helmet with full facial protection, gloves, shin pads and elbow pads.  All players are also required to have their own hockey stick and tape.

Rental equipment is available for a fee of $20.00.  If you wish to rent equipment, we ask that you call and make an appointment to be fitted before the first day of class.  The Ice Park cannot guarantee the availability of rental equipment if you do not register in advance.  Rental equipment must remain at the Ice Park at all times.
