Deadline for registration is February 17th
The Charlottesville Ice Park Adult Hockey Leagues are open to
all qualified participants age eighteen and older.
Sixteen and seventeen year olds may play with the permission
of the hockey director and the supervision of a parent at all
games. They must also wear a mouth guard. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun and
competitive environment for all players. The Ice Park
Adult Leagues are non-checking. Fighting and rough play
are strictly prohibited. Severe penalties, suspensions
and ejections will be enforced. The Hockey Department
reserves the right to deny players' privileges for
inappropriate behavior. This may include additional
suspensions and/or rink banishment. All players will be expected to
sign several waivers before their first game.
Schedule
Each season will consist of sixteen regular season games plus
playoffs. The Spring season will begin on
February 24th. Games will be played on Sundays at
5:00pm, 6:30pm, 8:00pm and 9:30pm; and on Mondays at 8:00pm
and 9:30pm. Games will be a rotation between the A and B
Leagues. Games will consist of three 15 minute stop
time periods. There is no overtime for regular season
games. Please consult your schedule as there may
occasionally be games on other days or at other times.
A League A
League is open to all adults with previous A Level hockey
experience. Teams will be created by draft by the team captains
and the Ice Park administration. There is no guarantee
that you will be chosen or placed with friends.
B League B
League is open to all adults looking for a more recreational
game. Teams will be created by the Ice Park
administration and a player advisory panel. Players may
be asked to move from their team to foster competitive
balance. Skill
Evaluation Skate There is
an evaluation skate for all new players and any players who
wish to move from their current league. This evaluation
is free, and is mandatory for all new players. The
evaluation skate will be held Sunday, February 10th at 5:00pm
for B League and 6:30pm for A League. USA Hockey
All Adult League players must be current members of
USA Hockey. Current membership must be documented
before any player will be allowed to participate.
Terms and Conditions of Enrollment
1. The Charlottesville Ice Park reserves the right to
change the day and/or time of games. No refunds or
credits will be made for games missed by the player.
2. Refunds are only given to players due to medical
reasons. The participant will be allowed to withdraw
from the league by submitting a letter with a doctor's note.
3. Players must execute a Charlottesville Ice Park
hockey waiver and any other waivers needed to play.
4. There is a $35.00 fee for all returned checks.
Equipment
All players will be required to wear full equipment at all
times. Any player not wearing proper equipment will be
ineligible to play. Full equipment will include an HECC-approved
helmet, skates, gloves, shin guards, elbow pads and pants (no
Cooperalls or roller hockey pants are allowed).
All players 17 and younger must wear full facial protection
and a mouth guard. All equipment must be specifically
designed for the sport of ice hockey. Jerseys
The Ice Park will provide team jerseys for league play.
Jerseys must be returned at the last game of the season.
Players who do not return their jersey will be subject to a
$50.00 fee.
Registration Fee
Registration for Adult League is $336.00. This does not
include the USA Hockey membership fee. Adult League
goaltenders play free, but must be current members of USA
Hockey. The Registration fee includes a sixteen game
regular season, playoffs (the top four teams qualify), awards
to first place teams and individual awards. All players
will also receive two free passes to
Drop-In hockey.
